Franca Barsi
January 19, 1968 - September 13, 2006

Franca Barsi was born in Lucca, Tuscany, Italy and lived in Gilroy for most of her life. She is a graduate of Gilroy High School in 1986, where she was a cheerleader and letter girl, first runner up for Miss Gilroy in 1985, and Miss Garlic in 1986. She attended Hartnell College and Columbia University in Los Angeles, a member of St. Mary's Church, Commissioner of Entertainment, active in local theater and was employed by PW Market in the Almaden area of San Jose.

She is survived by her son, Andrew Barsi-Sanguindel of Gilroy, her mother and step father, Mara and Ray Perez of Gilroy, her father, Romeo Barsi of Italy, her sister and her family, Lauretta and John Avina and their sons, Isiah and Garrett Avina of Hollister and her brother and his wife, Claudio and Silvana Barsi of Italy, her step- brothers and sisters, Ray Perez Jr and his wife, Elaine of San Jose, Jim and Chris Perez of Morgan Hill and Eleanor and Kenny Valenti of Morgan Hill and all of their families and many friends.

Mass was held at St. Mary's Church. Interment followed the Mass at St. Mary's Cemetery. Services provided by: Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home and Habing Family Funeral Home.
