Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sedalia with Fr. Mark Miller officiating. Burial with full military rites will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Sedalia. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Born August 15, 1948 in Wood River, NE, he was the son of the late Harvey Harold Hedglin and Myrtle Sorenson Hedglin. Doc was raised in Wood River where he graduated from high school in 1967. On December 9, 1970 he married Monika Rygwalski who survives of the home. Doc was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1968-1971, and then served in the United States Air Force from 1973-1977, when he was honorably discharged. He worked as an electrician for Marshall Municipal Utilities for 15 years, until his retirement in 2007. Doc and Monika have made their home in Sedalia since 1998, where they had attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and Doc was a member of the 40 & 8.
In addition to his wife, Monika; he is survived by two sisters, Ethel Louise Flannery of Tacoma, WA, and Doris Clydella Sigman of Hoquiam, WA; as well as nieces and nephews.
Doc was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joshua Eugene Hedglin; three brothers; and two sisters.
