Aaron James Long, 17 of Bath, IL, died at 2:15 a.m., August 27, 2006 in rural Mason County. He was born November 26, 1988 in Peoria, IL to Joseph and Stephanie (Holmes) Long.

Aaron is survived by four brothers: Nathan (Diane) Nicholas of Canton, IL; Anthony Holmes of Bath, IL; Tyler Long of Missouri; Luke Barry of Springfield, IL and one sister; Sunshine Nicholas of Pleasant Plains, IL. Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Jim and Carol Holmes of Bath, IL and paternal grandparents Ronald and Marilyn Long of Springfield, IL and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Aaron was a senior at Havana High School where he was a member of the football team and track and field team.

Funeral services will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana on Thursday, August 31, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Fr. Stephen Engelbrecht will officiate. Burial will be at Bath Cemetery following the services.
