Gilbert J. Faust, 85, died Friday, February 26, 2016 at Wisconsin Veterans Home, King where he resided the past 20 years. He was born on October 11, 1930 in Kiel, son of the late Benjamin & Josephine (Thuecks) Faust. He attended SS Peter & Paul School in Kiel. Gilbert was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps, serving his country in the Korean War. He worked as a shipbuilder for Peterson Shipbuilders in Sturgeon Bay, retiring from there. Gilbert enjoyed his time living in Sturgeon Bay. Survivors include his brother and sisters: Melvin (Germaine) Faust, rural Elkhart Lake, Isabel Kienbaum, rural Elkhart Lake, Delores (Hugo) Hartmann, Kiel, Florence Walsdorf, New Holstein, Leona Sobiech, New Holstein and Laverne Faust, Chilton, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister, Caroline Noworatzky, three brothers, Lester, Elmer and Edwin and four brothers-in-law, Lawrence Sobiech, Charles Walsdorf, Willard Kienbaum and Roger Noworatzky. Funeral services for Gilbert will be held at 4:00 pm, Monday, February 29, 2016 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th St., Kiel with Joe Zenk, Pastoral Leader residing, followed by Military Honors at the funeral home. Burial will take place in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Kiel.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 pm until the time of service.
