Mrs. M.B. Legate is dead. Mr. Legate on Way Home From Attending Funeral of Mother.
Mrs. Elizabeth Legate, wife of M.B. Legate, passed away at 7:35 Monday p.m. after an illness of a little more than a week.
To add to the sadness of the event, Mr. Legate has for a week been at Grafton, IL, to attend the funeral of his mother. He was caught by wire at St. Louis Tuesday morning and is expected to arrive here Tuesday night.
Mrs. Legate was born in Pennsylvania 57 years ago and married to Mr. Legate at Eureka, IL, in 1872. Three children were born to this union; Janover, who died in infancy; Clyde H., who holds the position of bookkeeper in the Farmers and Merchants bank of this City, ( Mena ) and Ray H. who holds the department in Clemson College in South Carolina.
