Mabel I. Shaffer 94, of Calcutta, Ohio passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at The Medical Center in Beaver, Pennsylvania following a brief Illness.

She was the daughter of the late Arch and Georgianna (Bell) Shaffer, born on July 11, 1911 in East Liverpool, Ohio. A life long area resident, Miss Shaffer retired in 1976 from the Homer Laughlin China Company, where she worked as a decorator and did brushing for 30 years. She graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1929 and was a member of the Old Guard and at one time she sold Avon and belonged to the Friendship Quilting Club. She was a member of Longs Run Presbyterian Church, where she belonged to the Hanna Circle.

Miss Shaffer is survived by a nephew, Samuel K. Shaffer II and his wife Pam, of Calcutta, a sister-in-law, Louise Shaffer of Calcutta and a great-niece, Kimberly Shaffer of Calcutta

She was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel K. Shaffer on January 9, 2006

Serviced will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home on Wednesday, Match 15, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Elder Tom Enochs of the church, officiating.

Burial will be in United Presbyterian Cemetery of Calcutta.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral Home in Calcutta today, Tuesday, March 14, 2006 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
