She loved music, had a special laugh, and a memory extraordinaire. The rodeo was always a special time for her. Animals were always special to Kathy. In spite of having personal challenges, she challenged life everyday. Her favorite phrase when asked "how are you?" was always "fit as a fiddle and twice as good!". Kathy always enjoyed a good cup of coffee, a cold pepsi, and any book available. She was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Westcliffe, CO, the Custer County Cattlewomen's Association, and the Florence Elkettes.

She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Kattnig; and grandparents, John and Helen Kattnig, and Ida Georges.

Kathy is survived by her mother, Mary Kattnig; brother, Bob (Peg) Kattnig; nephew, Tom (Maria) Kattnig; niece, Aurora Kattnig; and nephew, John Kattnig. Also surviving Kathy are her aunts, Wilma Kattnig, Wanda Schneider, and Ann Callahan; as well as numerous cousins.

with Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 3, 2014 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Westcliffe, CO.
