Edward L Shoemaker Sr, 67, of Marietta died Saturday.
Funeral services will be 2pm today at Castellaw Funeral Home with Chaplain Willard Boldeen officiating. Burial will be at Georgia Memorial Park with full military honors.
A Jefferson County, Ala, native, Mr Shoemaker was a retired Navy chief petty officer and a retired Lockheed flight line mechanic. He was a member of American Legion Post 160, the US Navy Fleet Reserve, a 32nd Degree Mason and a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Shoemaker of Marietta; one daughter, Linda Wallace of Mableton; two sons, Edward Shoemaker of Rome and James Shoemaker of Orlando, Fla; two sisters, Wilma Andrews of Pleasant Grove, Ala, and Martha Rickles, of Orlando; three brothers, Hiram Shoemaker of Anchorage, Ala, William Shoemaker of New Orleans, La, and Clarence Shoemaker of Bessemer, Ala; five grandchildren.
