William R. Adkins, age 75, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.

Bill was born on October 21, 1940 in Langlade County to the late Lewis and Janie Keaton Adkins. In 1968, Bill married the former Beverly Schmitt in Waupaca. He drove truck for Mirro Aluminum Company for 36 years, with an accident free record that he was very proud of. Bill enjoyed his trips up to the camper, driving around logging trails with his brother Glenn, and being with the family.

Survivors include Bill's wife of 47 years: Beverly; son: Dale (Amena) Adkins; two daughters with his first wife: Margaret (Bob) Conn and Janet (Todd) Lindemann; sister: Bessie Clark, Antigo; two brothers: Glenn Adkins, White Lake; and Clifford Adkins, Milwaukee; also other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two sisters: Elizabeth Powell and Geneva Strasser; and brother: Reuban Adkins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Rev. Judine Duerwaechter will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Following the committal service at the cemetery, a luncheon for family and friends will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
