Clinton, Dennis Lee, 68, of Bakersfield, California, died on December 22, 2015, at Mercy Hospital Southwest.

Dennis was born on September 14, 1947, in Taft, California, the son of Phillip and Emma (Borgsdorf) Clinton. He was raised in Atascadero, California, and joined the Navy in 1965. He served his country for 20 years, retiring in 1985. He began his second career in 1986 when he became a member of the Kern County Sheriff’s Department, where he would work for another 21 years, retiring in 2007. Dennis was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed his time riding with his friends.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Barbara (Stoner), who he married on March 11, 2006; sons, Michael Clinton, Steve Clinton, and Robert Clinton; mother, Emma Irwin; and 10 grandchildren.

A committal service with Military Honors will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Bakersfield National Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home Southwest.
