His obituary from the "Brooklyn Daily Eagle":

"STRUSS Suddenly, on Friday, Jan. 6, 1933. WILLIAM J. STRUSS, at his residence, 82 Pierrepont St., in Brooklyn. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the Church of the Savior, Pierrepont St. and Monroe Place, Monday morning at 11 o'clock."

And another from the same newspaper, Sunday, Jan. 8, 1933:

"William J. Struss Funeral Services Set for Tomorrow

Services for William J. Struss, 74, formerly a member for many years of the Crescent Athletic Club and head of the firm of public accountants at 111 John St., Manhattan, will be held tomorrow morning in the chapel of the Church of the Saviour, Pierrepont St. and Monroe Place. The Rev. Dr. Arthur Charles, rector of St. Mark's M. E. Church [Park Slope], where Mr. Struss had served as treasurer and vestryman, will officiate. Interment will be in the Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island.

Mr. Struss died suddenly Friday at the Palm Hotel, 82 Pierrepont St., where he resided. He was a native of Manhattan, but had lived in Brooklyn most of his life. His wife was the late Mrs. Marion Sharot Struss. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Harry Knowlton of Morgantown, W. Va.; Mrs. Homer M. Bartlett, and Mrs. Howard L. King of Port Washington. In addition, he is survived by several grandchildren."
