Samuel "Larry" Travers, age 89, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 17, 2008 in his residence. He was born in Norfolk, Va. on December 20, 1918 to the late Samuel and Elmoria (Wright) Dudley. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved and devoted daughters, Laurel and Terre; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by beloved wife, Telka; sons, Lawrence and Michael; and special cousin, Mildred. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, January 24, 2008 in the funeral home, with Rev. James Harris officiating Friends may greet the family from 10 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home. Interment to be held immediately following service in Mt. Grove Cemetery, North Avenue, Bridgeport. Arrangements entrusted to George J. Peterson Funeral Home, 1041 Noble Avenue, Bridgeport.
