Civil engineer and surveyor. After receiving his degree in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1933, he joined his family's engineering firm, Yerkes Associates in Bryn Mawr. During World War II he served as a civilian in the Corps of Engineers and helped build air fields for the military. He was an avid golfer with homes in Radnor, PA and Boca Raton, FL.
