Sheridan L. Yowell Obituary

Sheridan L Yowell, 72 of Fort Wayne passed away Tuesday March 1, 2016 at his home in Fort Wayne. He was born May 29, 1943, in Auburn to Remelius L. and Ester (Burns) Yowell.

He was a US Navy Vietnam Veteran and he worked at Auburn Gear in Auburn for 35 years before retiring in 2005.

Sheridan was a member of the American Legion Post 82 of Fort Wayne and belonged to the Legion Riders of Post 82. He loved riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Anthony Wayne HOG Chapter.

Surviving are a son and daughter, Richard L (Carrie Leslie) Yowell of Fort Wayne and Kimberly D Yowell Jackemeyer of New Haven; 4 grandchildren, Dalton Yowell, Dylan Yowell, Ashlee Jackemeyer and Nathan Jackemeyer; 2 sisters, Roeiene Dickson of Auburn and Ethel Freed of Auburn; His companion Sharon K Dorsey of Fort Wayne, her children Debbie (Tom) Bailey of Fort Wayne, Dawn Glover of Fort Wayne and their 3 children that he considered his own grandchildren, Mark Glover, Brenton Bailey and Dillon Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Roberta Yowell and a brother Richard Yowell.

Services will be Saturday March 5, 2016 at 11 am at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN. Burial will take place at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn. Calling is Friday from 2 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Military Honors will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at the conclusion of the service by the US Navy Honor Guard and the American Legion Post 97 of Auburn.

Preferred memorials are to the Legion Riders of Post 82.

Sheridan askes the all who attend the visitation and service wear something casual and be comfortable, no suits or ties.
