David Gibbs Satterlee, grandson of Eld. Wm. and son of Hawley Satterlee, was born Dec. 11, 1833 and passed this life in Berlin, N. Y., of cancer of the liver, Aug. 30, 1907, aged 73 years, 8 months and 19 days.

He was baptized by Elder Scott when eleven years of age and united with the Seventh-day Baptist church of Berlin. For over 62 years he has been a member of this church. He was all ready when the summons came. For over 10 months he had been confined to his bed. October 15, 1860, he was married to Euretta, daughter of John Davis. To them were born six children. The mother died April 21, 1983. He was born in the house where he had always lived and died there. He was a man who had inherited some of the excellent qualities possessed by his grandfather. He loved the word of God. Funeral at the church Sept. 1, at 2 P. M. Sermon by pastor from the word, Job 33: 4.
