Bernard L. Heili, age 92, a Manitowoc resident, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.He was born on May 18, 1923 in Hayes, KS, son of the late Peter and Mary (Hammerschmidt) Heili. Bernard was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. On May 29, 1946 he married the former Irene Brull at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Bernard was employed with Dawson & Springer Trucking and Northern Foods until his retirement. Survivors include his wife: Irene Heili, Manitowoc; one son: Patrick Heili, Milwaukee; one daughter and son-in-law: Mary Beth & Greg Novak, Manitowoc; one grandson: Mark (Marissa) Heili; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Gene (Jonie) Brull, Mishicot and Mary Lynn (Roger) Wiegert, Mishicot. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by a son: Michael Heili; his father and step-mother: Peter & Clara (Stipek) Heili; his mother: Mary Heili; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Herbert & Estelle Heili, William & Nettie Heili; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Anne & Anslem Brungardt, Sophie & Leo Schmidt, Cele & Ken Newberg; and a step sister and step brother-in-law: Doris & Jim Grumann.Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Avenue) Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Michael Warden. Entombment of Bernard's cremated remains will take place at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
