Rev. J.W. Hallman, Sr., of Pine Mountain, Alabama passed away on March 1, 2016. Mr. Hallman retired from United Methodist Church where he served as Pastor for 32 years. He was a member and elder of the North Alabama Conference and attended Lee's Chapel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing, playing baseball and hunting. He owned and operated Hallman Grocery on Pine Mountain for a short time and worked as a Foreman for ABC Coke for 18 years. Mr. Hallman was a veteran of the United States Navy. He had a passion to see people come to Jesus during his ministry. He was involved with the Kairos Prison Ministry, Emmaus Community and was on the board of Blount County Save-A-Life for many years.

He is preceded in death by wife, Bernice Hallman; parents, George A. and Elwy Blackwell Hallman; grandson, Tim Hallman; and brothers, George Hallman, Jr. and Tom Hallman.

Survivors include sons, Wess Hallman (Billie Faye) of Blountsville, Steve Hallman (Sara) of Pine Mountain, Keith Hallman (Terri) of Atlanta, Barry Hallman (Cindy) of Pinson and Marty Hallman (Charlotte) of Dallas, TX; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and sisters, Juno Armstrong and Helen Hallman both of Pine Mountain.

Bro. Wes Hallman, Bro. Barry Hallman and Bro. Johnny Harris will officiate funeral services on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 2PM from Lester Memorial United Methodist Church with burial following at Lee's Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Hallman will lie in state at Lester Memorial United Methodist Church on Thursday from 12 Noon until service time.

Pallbearers: Garrett Holcombe, John Weir, Brandon Weems, Buddy Hallman, Matthew Hallman, Luke Hallman, Charles Hallman and Rob Cole.
