Daughter of William Thomas Waisner & Virginia Emma Bean
Married 3 times; had children with her first husband only. First marriage was to Windsor Lee Shepherd on 15 May 1931 in Chesterfield County, SC. They were the parents of 5 children. Emma & Windsor divorced on 26 Apr 1943 in Polk County, FL. She married her second husband, James Robert Manners, on 13 Jun 1943 in Florida. She divorced him on 9 Sep 1947 in Hillsborough, FL. She remarried Windsor on 8 Nov 1947 in Rowan County, NC. Later on divorcing him again. Her third & final marriage was to Joseph Leonard White, Sr. They were together until his death in 1984. She never remarried.

Tryphena Waisner Shepherd White, 87, of 218 Leslie St., Albemarle, died at 11:05 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, at her home.

Her funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday in Poplin's Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. John M. Lindsay, The Rev. Gary Pinion and The Rev. Bobby Shepherd officiated and burial was in Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

Born Sept. 8, 1916, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late William Tom and Emma Bean Waisner and was a retired employee of Bitsy Bakery. She enjoyed gardening, yard work and cooking.

She was first married to W. Lee Shepherd and second to Joe L. White, both of whom preceded her in death. A son, Franklin D. Shepherd, and a daughter, Ruby Lee Shepherd Meacham, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Joseph C. Shepherd of Norwood and W. L. "Bill" Shepherd of Albemarle; a daughter, Shelvie Jean S. Johnson of Kannapolis; five sisters, Ruby W. Dick, Ruth W. Floyd and Wilma W. Hatley, all of Albemarle, Pearl W. Paul of New London and Opal W. Biles of Mt. Gilead; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Stanly Funeral Home was in charge.
