(Released obit) Sidney L. Camp, of Cabot, AR, passed away Mar 5, 2016 at the age of 77. He was born Dec 12, 1938 to the late Starks L. Camp and Myrtle A. (Holloway) Camp of Ocala. He graduated at Boca Ciega HS, Gulfport, FL and enlisted following graduation in Jun 1956 serving 30 years in the US Air Force until retirement 1 July 1986. He was a Vietnam Vet having served at Da Nang AB, RVN. During his service, he attained rank as CMSgt. Following his retirement he was employed as a letter carrier in Cabot with the US Postal Service from Jan 1987 until an early retirement in April 1998. Received a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Park College, Parkville, MO (1988) and graduated with Honors for his Master of Science Degree from the Univ of AR (1990).
A member of Cabot Masonic Lodge #319, F&AM and Cabot Chapter #508 Order of the Eastern Star. Having been a vital and active advisor with the DeMolay in Missouri, Illinois, and Arkansas (1973-1987).
He is survived by his children: Scott L. Camp (Marie) of Raeford, NC; Julie H. O'Keefe of Herndon, VA; Lori J. Merritt (Robert) of Cabot, AR; Steven H. Camp (Shellie) of St James, MO; Stuart J. Camp (Christina) of Navarre, FL; Hollie L. Camp of Cabot, AR; 14 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren; and two nephews.
At his request there will be no Memorial Services. After cremation, his remains will be interred at the AR State Veterans Cemetery, NLR, AR.
