Samuel E. Engle, 80, died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Noah (Grace) Settlage, RR1, New Knoxville. He had been in failing health for the last year and had resided at the Settlage home for eight months. A native of Pemberton, Shelby county, he was born Feb. 11, 1883 the son of Elisha and Leah Boblitt Engle. In 1906, he married Elizabeth Huelsmeyer, who died in 1954. Surviving are five children, Mrs. Settlage, Mrs. Arthur (Alice) Heiland, RR1 Anna, Robert C, Sidney, Mrs. Ralph (Kathryn (Baughman) Jackson Center; Mrs. Leonard (Mabel) Ruff; Sidney Center, N.Y., 14 grandchildren; a brother, Vinton Engle and a sister Mrs. Della Beemer, both of Sidney. Mr. Engle was a member ot the St. Jacob's Lutheran Church, Anna. He had retired several years ago after having worked in several shops in Sidney. He earlier had been engaged in farming. Services will be at the Cromes and Sons Funeral Home, with internment at Pearl Cemetery.
