The Attlesey's are my mothers family, they come from Soham in Cambridgeshire England. Robert's father was Edward Attlesey b 1820 in Soham. Edward's paternal grandparents took their 4 orphaned grandchildren to the US in 1836, brave of them as they were both in their 60's & it was a 3 month sea journey. Edward's parents were William Attlesey & Ann Elsden, which probably accounts for the middle name of Anna Whatley's husband, the name got passed down to a few of the later generations in the family in the US.
