Mary Ann is the daughter of Francis Golden and Rolla Riley. Born in Illinois they moved to Wise County Texas. later to Crawford County Arkansas .Mary married August 18,1878 in Alma Arkansas to William J Brown .They had 7 daughters and 1 son. With part of their children they moved to Texas in 1913.Mary owned a boarding house on Jackson St.,and then one on Canton. Then to Oak Cliff ,Trinity Heights Division on Engle St. Mary Ann loved to sew and taught her granddaughters.She passed away at her home 229 Engle ,Dallas Texas. She lived on in her children and grandchildren's memories, leaving lots of great stories for the one's of us who missed knowing her.
