OBIT. John Hunter BYERS, son of John and Mary BYERS, born Oct. 19, 1843, in Noble County, Ohio. He moved to Iowa with his parents in 1854 and spent most of his life on a farm near Libertyville. He died April 23, 1922, at the age of 78 years, 6 months, and 3 days.

He enlisted in the 19th Iowa Inf. and served three years in the Civil War. He was married in 1868 to Sara C. COLEMAN who survives.

Six children: Walter BYERS of Estacada, Oregon; Arthur BYERS of St. Louis, Mo.; Edward BYERS of Quincy, Ill.; Robert BYERS of Batavia, Iowa; Mrs. Mary FRAKES of Ottawa, Ill.; and Mrs. Lona MILLER of Libertyville, Iowa; 9 grandchildren....

Remains laid to rest in the Fell Cemetery near Libertyville on Tuesday, Apr. 25.
