Alfred was born in St.Pancras the son of William and Jessie Newton and was a brother to Jessie, Louisa and Anne Newton.
In 1907 Alfred married Ruth Fromant and had children Harry, Leslie, Lydia, Alfred and William Newton.
Whilst serving as an Air Raid Warden in WW2, Alfred, a builder and plumber of Caversham Terrace was injured at the Air Raid Warden's Post 14 in Rochester Terrace in an enemy air raid and passed away at the nearby National Temperance hospital later that day.
Alfred was laid to rest at ST.PANCRAS CEMETERY on the 23rd October 1940.
At the time of his passing Alfred was 58 years of age.
