CHAMBERSBURG -- Marjorie I. Adams, 67, of 657 Forest Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, in Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Jan. 31, 1936, in McVeytown, she was a daughter of the late George A. and Florence Irene Dunmire Gillam.

She attended Bratton McVeytown Oliver High School, McVeytown.

The former owner of Chambersburg Waste Paper Co., Chambersburg, she also worked at J.C. Penney, Knouse Foods and Sunnyway Foods, all in Chambersburg.

Her husband, Glen W. Adams, whom she married May 30, 1953, died March 10, 2001. Two brothers, Kenneth Gillam and LeRoy Gillam, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, JoAnn (Mrs. George) Wisor of Chambersburg; two sons, Jeffrey S. and Kelly B. (husband of Cynthia), both of Chambersburg; five grandchildren, Tara Jo Schwartz Robertson, Justin S. Schwartz, Kristian N. Adams and Craig A. Adams, all of Chambersburg, and Jarrett S. Adams of Mercersburg; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Robertson, Hayley Robertson, Ethan Schwartz and Shannia Robertson, all of Chambersburg; two sisters, Dorothy Wheeler of Lewistown and June Peters of Alexandria; and a brother, Nelson Gillam of McVeytown.

Memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 18 in Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home Inc., 333 Falling Spring Road, with the Rev. Jimmie Knox officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association in care of Antietam Health Care Foundation, 251 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown, Md. 21740.
