James “Tony” Anthony Scott, 42, Mandan, North Dakota, died Sunday, March 6, 2016, in Bismarck. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 14, 2016, at DaWise-Perry Funeral Services, Mandan, with Rev. Ryan Nordlund officiating. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place.

Tony was born June 26, 1973, in Orange, Texas, to Judy Pillgreen and later step-father Roger Anvik. Tony spent his childhood living throughout the country with his family, finally settling in Stanton, North Dakota.

Tony was an avid fisherman and loved to camp. He took every opportunity he could to spend time outdoors. He also loved music, and anyone who knew him, knew his love for everything Pink Floyd–they were the greatest band ever! Tony worked for Leingang Home Center for many years but has spent the past two years working for Swanson & Youngdale as a Journeyman Painter/Sandblaster. Tony was a member of the Union for Painters and Allied Trades and loved all his brothers in the Local #1962.

Tony met his soul mate Jamie Anderson in 2001. They started dating in 2009 and were married in 2011. They also welcomed their only child together Payson Macrea Scott “Mac”, in 2011. They shared a love of fishing, camping, music and family together. They built their life together in Mandan living one day at a time. They accomplished so many things and had so many memories together. One of their favorites was going to concerts including Elton John, where Tony proposed, Alice in Chains, ZZ Top, and most importantly Zac Brown Band. Tony had so many family and friends whom he loved and admired. His favorite saying was “Life is a Blessing, all day, everyday.” Tony will be remembered for his smile, kindness and generosity. Anyone who knew Tony, loved him. Tony should be remembered for the life he led and the people he helped, not by the details surrounding his death. Tony was a good man who lost his way.

He is survived by two children from a previous marriage; Sean Uriah and Jaime Lynne, along with his future son in law, Keith Savikas, all from Mandan. He loved his children more than words can say and was so grateful to be a part of their lives; his brothers and sisters, that he as he got older he became more connected with. They are Billy (Crystal) Anvik, Beulah, Desiree Johnson, Bismarck, Cory Anvik, Jamestown, Nicci Johnson (Ron Rivinius), Bismarck. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Joseph, Skyla, Tristan, Jacob, Trevor, and baby Anvik on it’s way; his in-laws, Dennis and Cathy Kessel, Mandan; and sister-in-law, Jodi Anderson, Bismarck.

He is proceeded in death by his mother Judy Pillgreen and father-in-law Sgt. Steve Anderson.

Tony’s wife and children would like to say a special thank you to all his friends/family in and out of the rooms who have been a huge part of his life, as well as the IUPAT union members. In lieu of flowers a donation account has been set up for his family at Capital Credit Union #69864990.
