His 16 children were all born DUKES,
first 4 sons dropped the S...
He was a member of Grand Army of the Republic the "GAR",It disbanded in 1956 when the last member passed away... He always went by Anderson.When his first wife Malissa died he said why do I need the S? there is only one now...written family history says he is buried in his uniform, and the casket was hand made from the wood of an old ship...He played the bugle and carried the "Truck" for the army, one of the last Civil War skirmishes in this area, he was hiding in an apple tree, the enemy spotted him and shot him down, he played dead, and later healed, Grandson of Henry and "Ferby" Jane Parker Dukes, Son of Wiley and Elizabeth Parker Dukes.

Oral family history says he buried her on the banks of the Little Tebo. She died of Consumption.
