Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in West Park Cemetery at Hereford with Randy Bird, pastor of Barn Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home of Hereford.
Mr. Dean was born in Lubbock and moved to the Deaf Smith and Castro county area as a child. He was a farmer, small engine repairman, licensed airplane pilot and operated a coin-operated laundry in Idaho. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
He married Verginia Riley in 1971 at Winnemucca, Nev.
Survivors include wife; two stepsons, Jim Brue of Hereford and Robert Brue of Portland, Ore.; two stepdaughters, Nancy Grande of Kalispell, Mont., and Alice Dickinson of Boise, Idaho; two sons, Roy Lee Dean of San Angelo and Jimmy Joe Dean of Rosenberg; a sister, Mary Louis Miller of Albuquerque, N.M.; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to King's Manor Methodist Home; Westgate Manor; or a favorite charity.
