Jimmy Dwayne Ballew, age 55, of Clermont, GA passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016.

He was a lifelong resident of Hall County and a graduate of Johnson High School Class of 1979. He served his country in the United States Army, was an avid aviation enthusiast and loved flying airplanes, and also had a great interest in meteorology. He retired from his computer technology business. Dwayne was a wonderful father, son, brother, and uncle, and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Ballew; brother, Jerry Ballew; and brother-in-law, Glenn Aaron.

Dwayne is survived by his son, Stephen Ballew, Lula, GA; mother, Kathleen "Cat" Ballew, Clermont, GA; sister, Debara Ballew Aaron; sister and brother-in-law, Dana and Michael Chitwood, all of Clermont, GA; and best friend, Scott Atkins, Gainesville, GA. Numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA.

Pastor Scotty Poole will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Oakwood, GA.

The family will receive friends at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 2 PM until 4 PM and 5 PM until 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family has a memorial fund set up at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home for Dwayne.
