Was born in Princess Anne County and was a lifelong resident of the area.
She was the widow of Patrick Henry Winston. Marriage 28 Mar 1923 • Norfolk, VA

Her father, Bennett M. Simmons was a surfman
at the Seatack/Virginia Beach Life-Saving Station.
Mrs. Winston was a member of the
Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 75, where she had served as organist.
She served as a docent at the Life-Saving Museum of Virginia, on 24th St., where she
talked with visitors about her life in Virginia Beach and her father's exploits with the Life-Saving Service. She was a member of
Virginia Beach United Methodist Church and the Beasley Bible Class.

Survivors include two sons, Howard S. Winston of Accomac, Va., and Bennett L. Winston of Hollywood, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A church service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Virginia Beach United Methodist Church.
Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
Service at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel.Memorial donations may be made to the Life-Saving Museum of Virginia, or the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 75.

Her home became the Virginia Beach restaurant Tautog's at Winston Cottage after her death.
