Alma Marie Wenzel age 83 0f Red Wing died Saturday March 12 at her residence at Villa at Hi Park. She was born May 7, 1932 in Partridge, KY to Princess and Donna (Wells) Caudill. She grew up in Partridge and attended a one room school house until 8th grade. She then began helping take care of families. In her early 20's she moved to Cincinnati and worked for a Formica company, and in 1952 she moved to Red Wing and worked at Ted's Cafe. On September 22, 1953 she married Paul Wenzel in Aurora, IN. They farmed in Vasa for 25 years until Paul's death on August 5, 1978. Alma then moved to Red Wing and worked as a nurse's assistant at the Seminary Home, until retirement. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting and gardening.

Alma is survived by her children Bill (Mary) of Cottage Grove, Ed (Doris) of Red Wing, Dave of Lake City, Mary (Orrie) Holmen of Flower Mound, TX, John (Janette) of Newalla, OK, grandchildren Paul, Mitch, Nick, Abby Schroeder, Peter, Brandon, Mike, Jamie, Elizabeth Fulcher, Orrie Joel Holmen, Paul Holmen, Sarah Holmen and Taylor Wenzel, 11 great grandchildren, sister Rosa Gadd of OH and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, grandson Adam Wenzel and ten brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be 11AM Saturday March 19, 2016 at the New River Assembly of God Church with Reverend Tom Johnson officiating.

Burial will take place at the Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 5PM to 7PM Friday March 18, 2016 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
