Bess Ruth (Ashworth) Addington

GATE CITY, Va. - Bess Ruth Ashworth Addington, 66, passed away Saturday (June 18, 2005) at Brookhaven Manor. She is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

She was born and raised in Scott County, Va. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Benjamin Addington; parents, Vincent Henry and Loudemia Steffey Ashworth; brother, Robert Ashworth; granddaughter, Hollie Addington; foster uncle, Bruce Williams.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda and husband Oran Moles, Gate City, Lisa and husband Robert Kilgore, Nickelsville, Va.; stepdaughters, Veronica and husband Kenny Hale, Gate City, Kathy and husband Russ Taeger, Miamisburg, Ohio; sons, Brent and wife Connie Addington, Duffield, Va., Henry Addington, Dayton, Ohio; stepson, Royce and wife Billie Addington, Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren, Marilyn Widner, Ricky Kilgore, Brandon Kilgore, Rachael Addington, Cierra Moles, Megan Kilgore, Breanna Moles, Amy Kilgore, Tanner and Trevor Addington; eight step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline and husband Gary Moore, Church Hill; sister-in-law, Barbara Ashworth, Gate City; brothers, Paul and wife Rita Ashworth, Nickelsville, Va., Eric and wife Marcia Ashworth, Noblesville, Ind.; several nieces and nephews.

Family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers of Brookhaven Manor and Adventa Hospice.

Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home in Weber City, Va., and anytime at the residence of Brenda Moles.

Services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Buddy Legg will be officiating.

Interment will be at Holston View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Scott County Lifesaving Crew, P.O. Box 369, Gate City, VA 24251.
