Shelton John Uptmore Born: May 8, 1987 Died: March 15, 2007 Shelton John Uptmore, 19, loving and beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, was a passenger killed in an automobile accident on the evening of Thursday, March 15, in his favorite place, Port Aransas, Texas.

Shelton was a graduate of Ronald Reagan High School, Class of 2005. He was currently a sophomore at Blinn College in preparation to attend Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

Shelton loved his family and friends with true devotion and had great compassion for all those less fortunate. He volunteered as a counselor and raised the funds necessary for a child to attend Green Family Camp for children with muscular dystrophy. He fed, bathed and attended to every personal need of his camper and called it 'the greatest summer of his life'. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved all of God's creation.

He is survived by his parents, James H. Jr. (Sonny) Uptmore, Jr. and Tracy Killian Uptmore. He has four brothers, James H. III (J.J.), David, Cameron, and Chance. Grandparents are James H. and Jan Uptmore, John and Jessie Killian and Diane Dowling Nash, all of San Antonio, Texas. Aunts and Uncles include Hunter Killian of Denver, Colorado, Courtney Killian of Los Angeles, California, John (Tito) Killian of Devine, Texas, Kip and Nellie Richter, Don and Debbie Tedder, Jack and Susan Uptmore, Chris and Deanna Uptmore, Billy and Cammie Blake, Paul Uptmore and Pam Cherry Kowalski, all of San Antonio, Texas. Shelton had 26 cousins, one adored Godson and nephew, James H. (Cuatro) Uptmore, IV, his best buddy and chauffeur, Todd Morrow, and lifelong friends, Justin Larson and Michael Oussett. The family would like to thank Mr. William Boyd, Principal of Reagan High School and his staff, who encouraged and supported Shelton during his high school years.

Shelton was baptized and confirmed in Christ at St. Mark's the Evangelist Catholic Church and was a lifelong member. To all we, his family and friends, say 'Our faith proclaims that now is when we have to know what we believe.'
