James Rodney Hollingsworth, 67, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Rodney was retired from Himont. He was an avid hunter and loved to fish at Toledo Bend. Rodney was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He also loved to travel. Rodney’s pride and joy was his grandchildren. He loved to play cards and basketball with his grandkids and watch them rodeo. If you saw Rodney anywhere you were sure to see his loving wife by his side as they were never apart.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 47 years; one daughter; one son; six grandchildren; one brother; and two great-grandkids. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce Hollingsworth and Maxine Evans Harris; his grandparents, Rev. J.W. and Mamie Evans and Clint and Marie Hollingsworth; and his in laws, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Abate, Jr.

Services for Rodney will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 1 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur with Reverend Jeffrey Ralston officiating and Rodney’s best friend, Jack Caskey giving the eulogy. Pall bears will be his grandsons. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park in Lake Charles. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 4-8 pm and will resume on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of service.
