Arthur Prewitt. LANCASTER - Services for Arthur Prewitt, 84, of Hamilton Avenue, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Revs. Albert Owens and Thomas Crawford. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery. He died Saturday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Feb. 15, 1920, in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Bascom and Bertha East Prewitt. He was a retired truck driver, having worked for Mason Dixon Truck Lines for 45 years and a member of Bryantsville Baptist Church and Teamsters Union Local 89, where he served as steward. He was the widower of Amanda Casey Prewitt. Survivors include four sons, Thomas A. Prewitt and Arthur K. Prewitt, both of Stanford, James G. Prewitt of Shepherdsville and McDavid Prewitt of Tampa, Fla.; four daughters, Celesta C. Ramirez and Myra M. Meyer, both of Louisville, Rebecca J. Hargrove of Stanford and Melissa J. Britt of Franklin Tenn.; a brother, Nolan Prewitt of Lancaster; a sister, Evelyn Owens of Lexington; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be David Murphy, Danny Waters, Danny Ray, Bob Newton, Bobby Preston and Jim Edgington. Honorary pallbearers are the Rev. Albert Owens, Danny Irvin, Norman Oliver, Russell Hester, George Preston Jr., and Bennie Hamilton. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.
