Rady, Roy W.

Roy W. Rady, age 68, a Manitowoc resident, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 in Milwaukee, WI.

Roy was born on February 22, 1948 in Fond du Lac, son of the late Roy O. and Vera (Jacobs) Rady. He was a graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac with the class of 1966. He also graduated from U.W. Oshkosh with a degree in history. Roy was a member of Delta Chi while at U.W. Oshkosh. On July 1, 1972 he married the former Liz Christ at St. Marys Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Roy was District Manager for the Boy Scouts of America and loved promoting the organization, whether through gentle persuasion or a riff of "Cats in the Cradle". Roy was an avid sports fan, especially the Brewers and T-Rats in which he was a season ticket holder. His passion for sports carried over onto his children, whether in attendance or coaching, he never missed a single game of their sports career. Roy was always a friend at the field. He enjoyed fishing and doing crossword puzzles. Roy had a vast knowledge of useless information that always seemed to come in handy. He loved touching people's lives and hearts. If you were willing or unwilling to listen, Roy had a story for you.

Survivors include his wife: Liz Rady, Manitowoc; two daughters and one son-in-law: Lisa Rady, Milwaukee, Karen and Jim "Bean" Marta, Green Bay; one son and daughter-in-law: Mark and Elizabeth Rady, De Pere, one brother and sister-in-law: Ted and Katie Rady, Fond du Lac; and his two furry feline friends: George and Harry. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by one sister.

Funeral Services will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Cremation will follow the services at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, with burial of his cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m.
