Daniel was born April 7, 1938 in Manitowoc, son of the late William A. And Elaine C. (St. Pierre) Fitzgerald in Manitowoc. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1956. He served in the United States Army from February 1957 until February 1959. On November 14, 1959, he married Janice D. Kralovetz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Daniel worked at Aluminum Specialty, Park’s Department of Manitowoc and owned and operated Dan’s Limo Service for many years. He loved watching movies and taking daily drives. Dan was proud of his service and was a member of the Amvets for many years.
Survivors include his wife: Janice; two daughters and sons-in-law: Joy (Tim) Thiers, all of Manitowoc and Jill (Ken) Naidl, Whitelaw; a daughter-in-law: Mary Doud, TN; four grandchildren: Brian Zahn, Jenny Engelbrecht, Jacob Naidl, and Katrina Wampler; four great-grandchildren: Marissa and William Engelbrecht and Sophia and Skylar Bowman; one brother: Patrick Fitzgerald, Mesa, Arizona; Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Donald and Kaylynn Robinson, Manitowoc and Darlene and Gordon Miller, Two Rivers; and special friends Norm and Ellie Wilda, Mountain. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
He is further preceded in death by two grandchildren: Tim Geigel and Chad Wampler; his parents: William and Elaine Fitzgerald; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: David and Bernadine Robinson.
Cremation has occurred at the All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc and a memorial service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt. Military Rites will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America, Manitowoc Chapter 731.
