Clarissa Francisco was the last of the ten children born to Abraham and Hester (VanDerCook) Francisco. She was baptized at the Schagticoke Reformed Dutch Church, Town of Schagticoke, Rensselaer Co., NY on 4 February, 1797. She never married and her father provided for her in his will. After he died in 1826, she went to live with her sister, Elizabeth, and her husband, Richard Washburn. She helped keep house for them. It is suspected that she may have been mentally or physically challenged in some way. There is a substantial error in the inscription on her tombstone. According to her birth record, she was just 3 months and 1 day short of her 56th birthday when she died.
