Janette was born December 29, 1933 in Letcher, South Dakota to Edward and Germaine Goethals and died peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in her home after a valiant battle with cancer.

Janette married Donald Dean Anton November 21, 1955. She moved with her family from South Dakota to Salt Lake City in 1964. She was a bookkeeper and finished her career in 1998 at Entry Systems.

Janette was dedicated to her faith, family, and community. Janette loved to volunteer her time to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Catholic Women's League, Vincentino's, and the VA Medical Center. Janette loved time with her family. She was very diligent in sending cards for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions to all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Janette was very welcoming, loving and happy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Janette is survived by her five children Steven Anton (Connie), Barbara Johnson (Mark), Kathryn Hunt (Lance), Bryan Anton (Tammy), Donna Nichols (Joe); sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters Anne Dobson and Margaret Amundson. Preceded in death by her husband Donald; her parents; and two brothers Edwin Goethals and Jack Goethals. A celebration of Janette's life will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East. Please use the complimentary valet parking provided on the north side of the building. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1385 East Spring Lane. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and 'T' Street. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
