Marjorie E. Boesch, 76, passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008. She was born in Rochester, N.Y., to the late Myrl and Selma Thomas. Marjorie was a retired unit secretary with Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. She was also a volunteer for the Red Cross and served as secretary and treasurer for the UDT-SEAL Association. Marjorie is survived by her husband of 53 years, Rudy Boesch; three daughters, Ellen M. Boesch, Patty B. Messerian and husband Martin and Barbara B. Schlatter and husband Terry, all of Virginia Beach; a brother, Dick Thomas of Pittsford, N.Y.; and a granddaughter, Kelsey M. Messerian of Virginia Beach. A memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in Little Creek Amphibious Base Chapel with Fr. William Dermott officiating. Burial will be private at a later date. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Naval Special Warfare Foundation, P.O. Box 5965, Virginia Beach, VA 23471. All non-military personnel must register with the funeral home at (757) 496-9727 in order to be permitted on the base. All attending services must enter the base through Gate 5.
