Custer County Republican August 19, 1909, page 1
Mrs. Flora Cole died Tuesday at her home in the east part of town of typhoid fever. She had been sick for several weeks and had the best of care, but her death was hastened by grieving over the death of her daughter, Francis, who died a few weeks ago. Mrs. Cole was sick at the time and insisted in being moved to the room that Francis had occupied, after which she grew worse. Another daughter, Letta, was sick with fever, but is considered out of danger. Mrs. Cole was born May the 18th, 1864 and has lived in this town about a year. Her husband and four children have preceded her, and she is survived by four children, Misses Lettie and Mary and Harry and Haruey (sic - Harvey?). The funeral services were held at the city cemetery and were conducted by Rev. Wolfe of the Christian Church of which she was a faithful member.
