Elmer was a dairy farmer most of his life but had also worked for Mary Maxim for many years making their wood crafts. He was a member of the Willow Tree Golf Course and played on the Tuesday and Thursday League. He played fiddle, liked to dance and play cards and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Sheryl (James) Cribbins; and two grandchildren, Chelsa and Jimmy; four sisters, Lucile Hirons, Erva (Bill) Maitland, Nora Elston, and Julia Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Glen.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at Carman Funeral Home in Brown City from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday from the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Griggs officiating.
Burial will be in Christian Memorial Cultural Center Cemetery, Peck.
