MRS. JOHN CRAMER DEAD
Again the angel of death has visited a home that is dear to many Ord people and the mother has been called to her heavenly reward. For many years the Cramers were prominent in the life of this community and made for themselves a place in the hears of the people and since moving from here to Garfield county where they took a claim they have often visited their old friends.
Myra Swift was born in Whitesville, New York, October 4, 1848 and died at her home in Garfield, county, Nebraska, August 31, 1919 and was laid to rest in the Ord cemetery Tuesday September 2, Rev. Hosman of the M. E. Church officiating. Her father Henry G. Swift, at one time a resident of Ord and a justice of the peace here. Her mother was Caroline Cushing Swift, a sister of Mrs. William E. Freeman and Mrs. Amanda Olney. All were among the very early settlers in the Loup Valley.
Deceased was married to John E. Cramer in 1876 and came with her husband to Ord, Nebraska in 1883. She united with the Baptist church of Ord in 1889. To Mr. and Mrs. Cramer were born six children, Edna who died in infancy, Mrs. Belle Philbrick of Ord, Earl, Fred and Carl all of Canada and Roy of Presho, S.D.
Illness for many months has kept Mrs. Cramer much at home and she has been a great sufferer in recent weeks and despite the fact that everything that medical skill and loving care could devise was done for her, there seemed to be no relief.
