Lorraine Marie Bengtson, the daughter of the late Anzelm and Polly (Pietruszewski) Staloch, was born on July 30, 1931, at Tamarac Township, Marshall Co, Minnesota. They then moved to Strandquist, MN where she was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and grew to womanhood there, attending Strandquist Public School until the 8th grade. She then went to work at various restaurants and farms in the area for several years. She learned to play the accordion and became known for playing it on the radio and at many dances. On Aug. 17, 1949, she was united in marriage to Henry Bengtson at Greenbush, MN. and they made their home in Karlstad for many years. During her marriage, she worked for Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls for over five years. Henry passed away Aug. 1, 2010, and Lorraine has continued her home in Karlstad since. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Karlstad. She enjoyed painting, art work and traveling, and was especially known for her baking. Lorraine passed away March 18, 2016, at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 18 days.

She is survived by one son: Samuel (Penny), of Johnannesburg, MI; one daughter: Maureen (Brad) Nelson, of Aitkin, MN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister: Sharon (John) Moneta, of Ham Lake, MN; sisters-in-law: Evelyn Stallock of Karlstad and JoAnn Stallock of Isanti, MN; in addition to many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers: Leonard, Conrad, Robert, Rudolph and James, and one sister: Delphine Borowicz.

Memorial services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, April 29, 2016, at Collins Funeral Chapel, Karlstad. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the services.
