Born Christmas Day 1922, 93 year old Warren G. Steffen of Manitowoc finished his life journey this morning, March 17, 2016.

A journey that contained 73 years of marriage to his wife Elaine, whom he married on October 14, 1942. A WWII Vet stationed in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and receiving the Purple Heart. A steamfitter by trade (Steamfitter Local 400), a bartender by choice and a golfer by nature. Warren retired in his 60's and spent the rest of his life as the Patriarch of the Steffen Family in Manitowoc. A crusty old soldier who never wanted to accept praise for his military service (“I was drafted, you know.”) He loved to have a beer and chat with whoever was on the barstool next to him.

Survivors include his wife: Elaine; his children: Karen (Charles Randall) Sutton, Warren “Sonny” W. (Darlene) Steffen, Susan (David E.) Ehlert, James (Amy) Steffen. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great grandchildren and even great great grandchildren.

Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc.

According to Warren’s wishes, no public services will be held. Private family services will be held at a later date.
