Sherry graduated from Burlington High School. She attended Stephens College in Columbia Missouri, St. Mary's at Notre Dame and graduated from the University of Iowa. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. After graduation, she worked in newspaper and radio in Burlington, Iowa.
Sherry and Cap resided in Arlington, Virginia. Sherry enjoyed modeling. She also helped Cap decorate the model homes his firm built.
She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Arlington and was involved in a number of charitable organizations. Sherry was a member of the Washington Golf and Country Club. She loved to play bridge and enjoyed spending winters in Florida. Above all, family was central to Sherry's life.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by one son, Scott, two brothers, Robert Burton Prugh Sr. and Eldon Prugh, and one sister,Marianne Prugh Ahrold.
