Mr. Lawrence T. "Punk" Bale of Summersville, son of the late John I. Bale and Effie Whitlow Bale, was born on Sunday, June 3, 1917 in Green County and departed this life on Friday, September 8, 2006 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital. He was 89 years, 3 months and 5 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Aetna Grove Baptist Church, a retired truck driver for the State Highway Department where he worked for 21 years and was a farmer.

He united in marriage to Dessie Shield Bale on August 13, 1938 who survives.

Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Larry and Mayola Bale of Summersville; a daughter and son-in-law: Wanda and Glenn Craddock of Linwood; three grandchildren and their spouses: Duane and Monica Bale of Green County, Ricky and Lisa Craddock of Mt. Washington, and Monisa and Terry Lee Gardner of Campbellsville; six great-grandchildren: Korey Craddock and Jordan Craddock both of Mt. Washington, Cody Gardner and Skye Gardner both of Campbellsville, and Morgan Bale and Zach Bale both of Greensburg; a sister-in-law: Ruby Bale of Magnolia; a brother-in-law: Morris Price of Summersville; a special nephew: Terry Price of Summersville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Bale was also preceded in death by three brothers and a sister: Pat Bale, Floyd Bale, Wilburn "Bill" Bale and Ruth Price.
