She was born May 13, 1912, in Beaver County, Okla., the daughter of C.J. and Minnie Unruh Hiebert. She was a cook.
She belonged to the First Mennonite Church, Hillsboro.
On Feb. 20, 1938, she married Herbert M. Scharping. He died in 1977.
Survivors include: a daughter, Kay Frances, Cottage Grove, Ore.; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Stanley.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Randy Smith presiding. There will be no visitation. There will be a private family burial.
