Betty Lou Grove Helm, 72 of Polo, MO, passed away Saturday April 1, 2000 at the Ray County Memorial Hospital. She was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1927, in Ray County, MO, the daughter of Raymond and Eunice Albright Grove.
She was a graduate of Lawson High School.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth Eugene Helm on September 11, 1955.
She was employed by the Veterans Administration Medical Center for 37 years, retiring in 1982.
She was a member of the Union Christian Union Church, in Lawson, MO; and served as church organist for many years. She was currently treasurer of the Missouri Christian Union Missionary Board.
She was a charter member and held offices in several organizations; including Beta Sigma Phi, the Lawson Business and Professional Women's Club, the Lawson Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was past president of Chapter LK, P.E.O. Sisterhood.
She is survived by one brother, Bobby Ray Grove of Polo, MO; several nieces and nephews; and many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Helm in 1994, and her parents, Eunice Grove in 1975 and Raymond Grove in 1986.
Visitation will be Monday at the Bailey Funeral Home in Polo, MO. Funeral services will be Tuesday April 4, 2000 at the Union Christian Union Church in Lawson, MO, with burial at the Union Cemetery. Bailey Funeral Home in Polo, MO is in charge of arrangements.
