MARGARET L. DAVIS
Services for Margaret L. Davis, 85, of 2417 S.W. Ninth St., who died of cancer Wednesday at home, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Berean Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis was born in Montana and lived in Des Moines the past 32 years. She was retired from the Iowa Lutheran Hospital kitchen and was a member of Berean Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Foxworthy of Des Moines, CeLesta Miller of Jefferson and Esther Rapp of Hammond, Wis.; six sons, Earl and Russel E., both of Des Moines, Dale of Clovis, Calif., Elbert K. of San Diego, James L. of Salt Lake City and Larry E. of Minneapolis; four sisters, Mary Shane of Manning and Hazel Young, Dorothy Boitnott and Fayrene Ellenwood, all of Des Moines; two brothers, John W. Davis of Des Moines and George W. Davis of Spokane, Wash.; 29 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 8 a.m. today at Hamilton's Funeral Home.

Funeral services were under the direction of Rev. Larry E. Davis (her son) and Rev. Raymond Weets. Soloist Ralph Graham sang two selections, "Home Where I Belong" and "Ten Thousand Years", accompanied on the organ by Esther DeHamer.
Pallbearers were Tim Clark, and grandsons Dwight & Mark Miller, Brian & Eric Davis, and Jeff Rapp. Honorary pallbearers were Lynn Davis, Bob Davis, and Wayne Ellenwood.

Born Maggie Lou Davis, she adopted the more formal "Margaret". She married Ralph E. Davis, (no relation) in 1919. They had nine children before their divorce. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers: infant Bessie, Vera Moreland, Edna Lewis, infant Charles, and Robert Davis.
